Synergy Counseling Center, LLC - Supportive Therapy for Adults, Couples, and Families
About Us
"Synergy" refers to the power that exists in the relationship between people to effect positive change when they are working  together.
This is what happens when therapy works. People grow from feelings of inadequacy and confusion to self-motivation and confidence.
Let me help you become the whole person you were meant to be.
I have been practicing psychotherapy since 1990, in a broad variety of treatment settings. My career began in residential treament at the former Founder's School, where I worked with DCF and court-placed adolescent boys. I then worked at the Lillian Reba Moses Child Guidance Clinic at the Community Health Center of Middletown, where I was an outpatient therapist for children, adolescents and adults, and also did Family Preservation Work with DCF-referred families. I also worked at Natchaug Hospital as a school-based therapist and in the adolescent day program, and more recently I was the Primary Therapist in the Evening IOP at Natchaug, a dual-diagnosis program for adults. I also have worked at the former Elmcrest Hospital in as Primary Therapist in Adolescent PHP, and as an on-call in Adult Inpatient, Adolescent Inpatient, Trauma, and Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation. At Branford Counseling Center I did outpatient individual, couples, and family therapy for all ages, and two Women's Empowerment Groups, one for younger women and one for more mature women, which I called "The Red Hat Society". In addition, I spent 2 years doing chemical dependency rehabilitation as a Primary Therapist at Stonington Institute in the Adult PHP. As a therapist at Connections Counseling and Shoreline Counseling, I did outpatient therapy and led women's groups and one early recovery group. I am skilled in the treatment of most types of mental and emotional disorders, in addition to typical family and couples problems. I now practice independently, and welcome referrals.
"With an open mind and an open heart,        anything is possible."
